Hey Aaron. I would like to go kiting with you. I live in San Diego, but I can come to LA at the weekend (especially next weekend). I would need to rent all the kite equipment, because I left mine at home in Germany. Maybe you could help me out with finding a shop that offers rentals on kite gear. My name is Aaron Campbell, I am a college-student majoring in Economics and Leadership Studies at Claremont McKenna College. I am currently living in Off-campus housing at USC and doing two internships for small-startups. However, I am free most weekends and really want to get out and go kiting! I began taking Kitesurfing lessons 3 years ago, each summer. I got to the point where I could safely handle the kite, standup, and ride both ways. I then decided to buy my own equipment (got a 16m kite, harness and board) but I have not had a chance to use them yet as none of my friends share my interest in kiting. I am looking for a partner close to LA with more experience who could help me with finding good spots, rigging, and looking out for one another. I am a quick learner and have no doubt that after a few sessions with my own equipment I will be competent and safe. I have my own car and equip as mentioned and I am a pretty laid-back guy with lots of beach experience (surfing and lifeguarding). Hello All, Just moved to Lake Forest for work in Irvine from kite Meca ( Oregon ). Thought I woud say hello and cast a line for some tips on finding wind and some kite buds in Southern Cal. Don't really know anyone in the area, only been here 2 weeks today and mostly just working and unpacking but I need my fix. About me - I've been kiting for 4 years mostly in the Columbia Gorge and the Oregon coast but also in the Philippines, Taiwan, Florida, New Jersey, Utah (snow), and Idaho (snow). I currently fly Caution Kites although I've flown others. I am an IKO Instructor and will be checking with the local schools for work as and Instructor on weekends during peak season.
