We meet at 2pm at West end of La Verne Parking lot
and wait for wind.

It will be a good idea to pump up the kites and get ready to go.

We will use an easy starting method.

Since it is upwind for the
first mile, that will be more of a determination of positions
rather than any starting sequence.

Look out for wind shadow(s).

After one rounding, we will determine if other roundings
will take place.

Who's going to bring the Cold Ones for the finish?

Scott

Looks like our biggest challenge might be getting some wind! Pray for wind!

Well, I got called out to work, so unfortunately, I won't be joining you for your race around the island. Looks like the wind will be good today! Have fun, I can't wait to hear how it went!

Got wind after 4pm - nobody raced.

Wind was lighter than registered (normally it shows 3-5mph higher than actual)
-about 15-17mph max
Was able to make to island but not around it.
Wind dropped below 15 shortly after i came in about 5:15pm

Normal situation: If strong winds happen, so does everything else.

The good thing about kite racing, is that you will push yourself harder than if you
were to free kite on your own. Your skills will get better and your strength and
coordination will increase along with your confidence. All that from just a little
bit of competition.
